After the party....

There are small pieces of detritus left everywhere....

Tea cake wrappers on the tables and shelves.....

The biggest serving pot and other bits and bobs left out on the table, moved across especially for the party....

Washing up all over the kitchen.....

And I take 4 peanut buttercups, a Tunnock's Teacake (I had one of these with a candle in as my birthday cake last night!)

and a BIG cup of chai to sit with my feet up, quietly, watching....

  1. I hope everyone had a great time, lots of untidiness means they did I reckon.

    1. It was impressively not as big as mess as I feared; we were down about 7 on usual family numbers (17 instead of 25!)

  3. We're loving Home Fires (or Home Fries as my husband keeps thinking it's called!) - definitely a treat after all that tidying up. And happy birthday! xx

    1. I just think the music is so not what I'd expect for a Second World War drama; it's very Clannad, ethereal and misty woods with magicians and fairies in. Probably more Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell than Home Fires.

Which, thanks to Winwick Dad, I will now only call Home Fries!!!

    1. It's Danish tradition, apparently. They call them Flodeboller (with some Danish accents on the o that I can't do) and they even have them with marzipan in. I <3 Denmark!!

    1. It was fun. Sometimes I can't have a party for the family because everybody's away, so it's good when it works out.
