Just pictures today. I have a metre of ironing to do. Mostly shirts belonging to my Dearest One, but I am on a roll and want to get the kitchen tidier!
Yes, stay on that roll! Sometimes you have to let things build up to such a point that you just think "Right!" and then you get motivated and crack on. I need a deadline to kick me up the arse, or else I just faff around for ages. Moving house meant that we did some spectacular de-cluttering last year and actually it was really liberating. x
We moved house 14 years ago when I was 7 months pregnant. I didn't do ANY decluttering at that time, and almost no organised thought emerged. I'm hoping to feel liberated as well. I don't think I've ever cleared quite as comprehensively as this year; I've been brutal with myself!
I've been decluttering too. There's a huge pile of stuff to be taken to the charity shop and I went to the dump yesterday with several tins of dried up paint, unused, battered kitchen equipment and empty boxes from items we no longer own but kept 'just in case'. You look as if you are doing well. There are just three of us and we create lots of clutter so it must be even more tough with five of you. Don't forget to take some time out too. Holidays coming to an end soon and I've made the mistake before of spending too much time on chores and not enough actually relaxing.
I have a matching ironing pile apart from a couple of shirts it will be put away un ironed - one day maybe! Good luck with you decorating, we've just finished my mums house & I have no wish to see another paint can for a while!
I really need to introduce you to my latest hooky love, before it gets finished and I end up not telling you the back story. Let me show you what I'm on about first; World, meet Autumn Ripple Blanket (Autumn for short). You see, I have a granny square with flowers and a black background blanket that I'm desperate to finish for my bedroom, and a list of decorative items I'd like to do for Autumn and Christmas, so I sat down last week to make an Autumn Inspirations board on Pinterest (like you do) and made this; https://www.pinterest.com/angeljem5/autumn-and-fall/ and I loved the colours and the feelings it aroused in me. Colour-wise I am a warm autumn, but very often misbehave and don't wear them (long reason; won't say now) but I do love them, and the whole Season of Mists and Mellow Fruitfulness bit, so the board keeps filling up with pure autumnal inspiration. Until this one hits my eye. From The Glamorous Housewife's site . And the colours are be
And when you got your first comment how did you feel? I found a new blog friend this week and commented on her post, then another and then another. I like reading back posts when I find a new person. It makes them more of a full personality to me. But it got me thinking; how did I start writing my blog? And when did I get my first comment (and who off?) My first post was called Angel Jem; From Mess to Less. Ho hum, that aim has never quite happened, has it? And my first commenter was the lovely Cherry Menlove. I'd been a blog-hopper for ages, had been leaving comments on others blogs and then decided I should probably dip my toe in and go for it. Cherry Menlove was one of my favourite reads, and I was delighted that she stopped by and commented! Back then (2007) there didn't seem to be that many blogs out there. Everybody knew Posy and Yarncraft and Cherry Menlove and Dottie Angel , and people popped up for a few years and then disappeared. Some blogged to promote
OK, heads up, friends; I shall be writing a post at the weekend, but for all my blogmates out there; I am actually on the Chase this Thursday (7th January) at 5pm on ITV. As a contestant!!!! No details (I signed the contract!!) but if you want to see a walking, talking Angel Jem and to have a really good laugh, then watch me. I'll see you here on Friday!
Look at you go! You are a woman on a mission I can tell.

ReplyDeleteDon't worry, I have downtime scheduled as well! This week there is no decorating planned, and next week is a week of washing and packing.
DeleteWow - can you pop over and do mine too :-)
ReplyDeleteI keep telling you, for tea and cake I will do much!

ReplyDeleteI iron nothing if I can get away with it. Mr AJ still has 75cm worth of ironing, but I can see the kitchen wall behind, so that's better!
DeleteProgress is being made!
ReplyDeleteSlowly.... slowly....
DeleteLooks as though you are doing well! Hope you enjoy the results! Hope the ironing wasn't too bad! xx
ReplyDeleteThere is still a metre of ironing, but that's because I've been washing. Big mistake.
DeleteOoh.... I love that shade of blue! It's going to look great. Jx
ReplyDeleteThank you! Can't wait to be completely finished!
DeleteIt's coming along - hang on in there! Judy
