My House has been Christmassed!!!!

It's taken me a little longer than usual to finish off Christmassing the house.
I had to paint the little houses for my fireplace. They were really good fun! I was going to paint them white but I painted one red one and fell in love. I just adore the icicles on the roof, and the little wreath on the door!

I put them up alternately with little winter glasses that I have had for years. In the evening, it makes a lovely golden glow on my mantle piece.


And if you look closely, you can see me in the mirror!

    These are lovely. I have no fireplaces and got rid of my surround before I moved here and this is the only time I miss having a lovely mantelpiece to decorate. Yours is lovely and thanks for sharing.

      We didn't have a fireplace in our first house so it's a real joy to have one to decorate!

How did you start writing your blog?

And when you got your first comment how did you feel? I found a new blog friend this week and commented on her post, then another and then another. I like reading back posts when I find a new person. It makes them more of a full personality to me. But it got me thinking; how did I start writing my blog? And when did I get my first comment (and who off?) My first post was called Angel Jem; From Mess to Less.  Ho hum, that aim has never quite happened, has it? And my first commenter was the lovely Cherry Menlove. I'd been a blog-hopper for ages, had been leaving comments on others blogs and then decided I should probably dip my toe in and go for it. Cherry Menlove was one of my favourite reads, and I was delighted that she stopped by and commented! Back then (2007) there didn't seem to be that many blogs out there.
