Wednesday Wind up

I didn't get the post of Reading Champion. I did get through on The Chase and may be called to film a programme at some point this summer.I had a filthy cold last week that kept me from doing anything apart from work, sleep and sneeze and, yes, I am desperate for the holidays. Ours don't start until Thursday. That's Maundy Thursday, so as close to Easter as it could get. I'll be back with plenty to post about when I can breath.

And relax.

    I'm sorry to hear you didn't get the Reading Champion post, but do let us know when you're on The Chase, I shall watch out for you. Well done on getting through. Hope you're feeling better soon, Eleanor doesn't break up until Thursday either.

      It's too close to Easter! At least we get 2 weeks off.... although David has already said he's going to be busy working the whole two weeks! AS levels, eh?

      Will do; they are very careful to say that it's a provisional acceptance subject to being cast, but at least I'm on their list!

    Sorry to hear you've been full of those nasty germs too. Hope they go very soon and you are left to enjoy the school break germ free. Such a shame about the job, but I'm crossing everything for a call back on The Chase.

    I'm sorry you didn't get the job but that just means there's something bigger and better waiting around the corner for you. I wasn't going to bother watching Poldark - I read the books years ago and though that it would be "just another period drama" - but thanks to you I decided that I would and I'm really enjoying it! xx

      I'm pleased to find another Poldarkian. My daughter (aged 13) is watching and loving it as well. But hands off Aiden.... he's mine!

    I hope that you feel better when you arrive at the holidays. Solihull (where I work) finished last Friday but many of the local schools in Worcester are continuing until tomorrow. We are facing a 13 week summer term - which feels a bit too long really. The only compensation for me is that it's going to be the last one!! Jx

      Ooh! You're on the countdown! How many days left? Are they marked on a calendar somewhere? If my contract doesn't renew I'll be on a countdown as well, but with the prospect of supply or a new job ahead of me. I won't know for certain until May.

      I am loving the Easter holidays. I feel better than I have all term, and relaxed. If it weren't for the money (and boy do we need the money) I'd say my natural place is to be at home......

I really need to introduce you to my latest hooky love, before it gets finished and I end up not telling you the back story. Let me show you what I'm on about first; World, meet Autumn Ripple Blanket (Autumn for short). You see, I have a granny square with flowers and a black background blanket that I'm desperate to finish for my bedroom, and a list of decorative items I'd like to do for Autumn and Christmas, so I sat down last week to make an Autumn Inspirations board on Pinterest (like you do) and made this; https://www.pinterest.com/angeljem5/autumn-and-fall/ and I loved the colours and the feelings it aroused in me. Who knew that having a new business was just like having a new baby? No, don't laugh. Listen to this story. It was about a year and a half ago that Mr Angel Jem read this book, The Litigators, by John Grisham. I love JG, I read a lot of JG for the same reason I watch a lot of courtroom dramas and sit on a Sunday watching football. Mr AJ likes them, so there's a lot of it about and it's well worth sharing an interest together (and, no, he CANNOT crochet, although his Mum used to dressmake and he has a lot of respect for useful crafts.) The role of the book is crucial in our story. The hero, David Zinc, has it all; a good job in a big firm, a big BIG firm. But it takes all his time and he is working for the firm.
