Just a quick pop by...
We've been busy sprucing up the front;
power washing the block paving (apparently a power washer is really good for practising handwriting!)
grey undercoat on the front door and garage before two coats of a dark red satin Weathershield paint called Monarch.
The house is looking better, but like every time you do one small thing, now I'm looking at it thinking "I need to do the window sills. And the bell needs replacing. And don't the windows need a good wash...."
Not to mention, I will need a new wreath for Christmas. Mistletoe, 40cm. Don't tell Mr AJ.

That red is so warm and welcoming and will look fabulous come Christmas time.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about one job leading on from another, it's never ending, especially when you've been Pinteresting and get inspired to do try something!

I sat with a relative last Sunday and we talked Pinterest; we follow each other and just seem to be hooked on pootling through the options! Are you on Pinterest?
DeleteWhat a fabulous colour for your door. My front looks terrible at the moment, the hedge needs cutting, the flower bed needs weeding and the block paving is covered in horse tail, blasted stuff. You don't fancy doing mine now that yours is finished, do you?
ReplyDeleteFor a decent cup of tea and a slice of cake? I looked the price up online; for what we (the kids and I) did yesterday a company in London was charging £33 an hour for 2 people; we worked for 6 hours yesterday so we saved £198 (not that we were ever going to pay that much!)
DeleteYour door looks fantastic!!!! Yes, you will need a new wreath - five in fact, one for each season plus Christmas!! xx
ReplyDeleteNow 5 would be good! But I couldn't crochet them, or knit them, (and then leave them to get weather beaten) so what could I use for each season?
DeleteI really like the color of the door, it's very welcoming.
ReplyDeleteThank you! For years I told Mr AJ I wanted to paint it red, but he resisted. Now he looks at it and goes "I knew it would be lovely"
DeleteMen!
Your door looks fantastic! Yip, a Christmas wreath will be a must this year.

Definitely, as long as I can do it on a zero budget!
