After the party....
There are small pieces of detritus left everywhere....
Tea cake wrappers on the tables and shelves.....
The biggest serving pot and other bits and bobs left out on the table, moved across especially for the party....
Washing up all over the kitchen.....
And I take 4 peanut buttercups, a Tunnock's Teacake (I had one of these with a candle in as my birthday cake last night!)
and a BIG cup of chai to sit with my feet up, quietly, watching....

I hope everyone had a great time, lots of untidiness means they did I reckon.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy those little treats!

I will do! Peanut buttercups are essential party fare for us!
Deletea big mess usually equals a great party xxx
ReplyDeleteIt was impressively not as big as mess as I feared; we were down about 7 on usual family numbers (17 instead of 25!)
DeleteWe're loving Home Fires (or Home Fries as my husband keeps thinking it's called!) - definitely a treat after all that tidying up. And happy birthday! xx
ReplyDeleteI just think the music is so not what I'd expect for a Second World War drama; it's very Clannad, ethereal and misty woods with magicians and fairies in. Probably more Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell than Home Fires.
DeleteWhich, thanks to Winwick Dad, I will now only call Home Fries!!!

DeleteOh, Happy Birthday! A Tunnocks with a candle sounds like the perfect cake!
ReplyDeleteIt's Danish tradition, apparently. They call them Flodeboller (with some Danish accents on the o that I can't do) and they even have them with marzipan in. I <3 Denmark!!
DeleteSounds like a perfect way to recover after a busy party atmosphere!! Glad you had a good time! I hope you have many more! xx
ReplyDeleteScary thought for 2015; I've probably had more birthdays than I have left, so every one is precious and I am going to party every chance I have!!!!
DeleteHope you had a very happy birthday.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I did!
DeleteThat's the sign of a good party, hope everyone had a great time.
ReplyDeleteI think so... there wasn't a lot of the pork left, although there was enough chilli for me to be let off cooking tonight as well!
DeleteHappy Birthday! Peanut butter cups are essential for any celebration. x
ReplyDeleteMy nieces say thy're better than shop bought, and so easy I love making them!
DeleteLooks like you had a great party - glad you were recovered in time for it
ReplyDeleteSo was I!
DeleteA belated Happy Birthday - looks like you celebrated in style! Judy.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun. Sometimes I can't have a party for the family because everybody's away, so it's good when it works out.
DeleteLooks like it was a good party, I hope everyone pitched in with the tidying up! xx
