Eleven years ago today....

The presents sit waiting....
I woke at 3am with contractions 3 min away.

I have to draw the birthday cards, it's a family tradition.
I told my husband who told me to wake him when they were closer.

Opening a Sylvanian Family present, of course
I rang my Mum at 4am to say 'Happy Birthday Mum! And, by the way, could you come and look after the boys. The baby's coming NOW!'
I'm conscious that the years of cute presents won't last forever.

I got to the hospital at 5am and told the midwife the baby would arrive by 6am.

She chose the dotty paper.
My princess arrived a fashionable 10 minutes late.


Happy 11th!


I have never had a moment's peace since, and I love it.
Happy Birthday Princess!

    Happy Birthday indeed- love Sylvanian families too- always wanted them when I was a kid. Maybe its not too late to ask?! Here's to lots more happy Birthdays!(& plenty more cake!) x

      Get some! I have to admit that I love staging the dolls house. It's like the best combination of Sylvania, Wind in the Willows and Brambley Hedge!

    Happy birthday! :o)

    I was in a big toy shop the other day with my 30 year old daughter and both of us oohed and aahed at the Sylvanian Families!

And when you got your first comment how did you feel? I found a new blog friend this week and commented on her post, then another and then another. I like reading back posts when I find a new person. I really need to introduce you to my latest hooky love, before it gets finished and I end up not telling you the back story. Let me show you what I'm on about first; World, meet Autumn Ripple Blanket (Autumn for short). You see, I have a granny square with flowers and a black background blanket that I'm desperate to finish for my bedroom, and a list of decorative items I'd like to do for Autumn and Christmas, so I sat down last week to make an Autumn Inspirations board on Pinterest (like you do) and made this; https://www.pinterest.com/angeljem5/autumn-and-fall/ and I loved the colours and the feelings it aroused in me. Whatever else you do today (hello! I'm writing this a day late on Thursday: better late than never) go and vote. I don't care who you vote for, just vote. And if there's nobody you want to vote for, go and spoil your ballot. Spoilt ballots get counted as well, and can be a form of protest. On to Wednesday Wind Up. I've had a bit of a slow wake up this week, I think I either have a water infection or a cold, I find it so hard to get out of bed and into work. Or perhaps the sunny mornings just make me wish occasionally I was still a SAHM. Oh, the things I could do with a few days at home now! Never mind, that's not my season. I work 9 to 4 most days, so that's what I do. What am I reading this week? I finished reading Gone Viking by Helen Russell. It was funny, and touching, and all the things I wanted it to be.
